Verification & Claiming
What our status labels mean, how manufacturers claim their profile, and how to request corrections to listed data.
What each label means
Every manufacturer profile carries one of three statuses that indicates the level of data confidence and whether the manufacturer has confirmed the listing.
Default state for every profile
Data is compiled from publicly available sources — manufacturer websites, product pages, and industry directories. The manufacturer has not confirmed the listing. Information may be incomplete or out of date. This is the current state for all 98 profiles in the directory.
Profile ownership established
A representative of the manufacturer has identified themselves via a corporate email address and confirmed ownership of the profile. Specs, company description, and contact details are maintained in coordination with the manufacturer. Full verification may still be pending.
Data confirmed by the manufacturer
The manufacturer has claimed the profile and confirmed that the listed specifications, company information, and product details are accurate. Data has been cross-referenced with official sources and the manufacturer has acknowledged it in writing.
How a manufacturer claims their profile
There is no self-service claim form today. Each claim is handled manually by a PlungeIndex operator. The process takes up to two business days.
Send an email from your company domain
From an email address on your manufacturer's domain (for example, name@yourcompany.com), write to info@plungeindex.com with the subject line "Profile claim: {Company Name}".
Using a corporate email address is required — it is how we confirm you represent the manufacturer. Emails from free providers (gmail.com, outlook.com, etc.) cannot be processed.
Include a link to your PlungeIndex profile
Paste the full URL of the profile you want to claim so there is no ambiguity, e.g. https://plungeindex.com/manufacturers/your-company/.
If you want specific specifications, descriptions, or products updated as part of the claim, list them in the same email. We will review and apply changes in the next daily rebuild.
We review and update the status
A PlungeIndex operator manually reviews each claim within two business days. Once the claim is confirmed, the profile is moved to Claimed status. If any updates were requested, they are applied at the same time.
There is no self-service dashboard today — every claim is handled by an operator. We will introduce an automated flow once claim volume justifies it.
Questions before claiming? Write to info@plungeindex.com and an operator will respond.
What claiming gives you today
Claiming is free. It does not create ads, preferential placement beyond sort ordering, or any paid relationship with PlungeIndex. It establishes accuracy control and, once enforced, eligibility for buyer inquiry routing.
Control over profile accuracy
Request corrections to specs, company description, product lists, and contact details. Changes are applied at the next daily rebuild after operator review.
Inclusion in editorial guides
Procurement guides and regional roundups published on PlungeIndex will prioritize verified and claimed manufacturers where relevant, because the underlying data has been confirmed.
Priority internal sort
On manufacturer index and regional pages, verified and claimed profiles appear higher in the default sort order once a minimum threshold of claimed profiles is reached.
Request-for-Quote routing (future)
Once the RFQ enforcement date arrives, buyer inquiry routing will be restricted to verified and claimed manufacturers only. Claim now to retain RFQ visibility at that point.
Open today, verified-only later
Request-for-Quote inquiries submitted through PlungeIndex are currently routed to the listed contact for every manufacturer, regardless of claim status. This is intentional during the initial growth phase so that all listed manufacturers can receive buyer interest.
After a transition window of 60 days from our first outreach, RFQ routing will be restricted to verified and claimed manufacturers. Unclaimed profiles will remain listed and searchable, but buyer inquiries will no longer be forwarded to the unclaimed contact. The specific enforcement date will be announced on this page before it takes effect.
If you are a manufacturer and want to retain RFQ visibility past the transition window, claim your profile now using the process above.
Request a correction
Anyone — a manufacturer, a buyer, or a third party — can request a correction to data listed on PlungeIndex. Claiming the profile is not required to request a correction, though claimed profiles are prioritized for review.
- Email info@plungeindex.com with the subject line "Data correction: {Company Name}".
- Include the profile URL and a clear description of what is inaccurate and what the correct value is.
- For product spec corrections, link directly to the public source (datasheet, product page) that confirms the correct value.
- Corrections are reviewed within two business days and applied at the next daily rebuild.
All correction requests go to info@plungeindex.com.
